Section 18
Disability Benefits

(1) If a Chief Justice or a judge is injured in the course of official work, even if he does not have to retire from service, if his ability is hindered due to that injury, considering the seriousness of the injury suffered by such Chief Justice or judge, ten thousand Financial assistance can be given in lump sum up to Rs.

(2) The Acting Chief Justice or Judge shall be entitled to additional sick leave with full pay without deduction from any accrued leave for the entire period required to treat the injury as per sub-section (1).

(3) One hundred percent of the medical expenses incurred while undergoing treatment in accordance with sub-section (2) shall be received by such chief judge or judge and the expenses incurred during such treatment shall not be deducted from the medical expenses that he may receive in accordance with section 31.

(4) A Chief Justice or a judge will not be entitled to benefits under this Act if he or she is injured due to his or her own gross negligence.
